…speaking through art, poetry and humour…oh and politics too!

I Saw You There by Maureen Kwiat Meshenberg

I Saw You There

I saw you,
hands to face,
tears that-
spilled upon,
your day.
you held them close,
not wanting-
anyone to see,
I reached with-
my hand,
my tears,
covering yours-
I did not offer,
words like-
it will be okay,
it will be alright,
sound so empty sometimes,
even contrite.
let the eyes of my soul,
give you my listening-
with ears of the heart,
open and true.
without words that compromise,
this moment of holding-
giving you a resting place,
embraced in love and grace,
for you.”
